Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (12-Hour Nights, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM, 3x12)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a high-acuity cardiac and stroke telemetry unit, managing a patient assignment of up to 5–6 patients with potential surge fluctuation
• Monitor and manage cardiac patients including pre and post procedure care for pacemaker implantation, ICD placement, cardiac catheterization, and peripheral vascular interventions
• Initiate and titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone; manage patients on non-rebreather masks, high-flow O2, and chronic BiPAP
• Care for patients presenting with unstable angina, CHF, dysrhythmias, new CVA/TIA, and low-risk chest pain evaluations
• Utilize unit systems including Pyxis, EPIC (Dimensions), and SBAR communication framework
• Participate in on-call requirements, float assignments, and a rotating weekend schedule (every other weekend, with required Monday and Friday coverage within a 6-week period)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in NC or a Compact state
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Telemetry or cardiac nursing experience with comparable acuity and patient ratios
• Proficiency in IV insertion, telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip management, and PCI post-procedure care
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
• Must successfully pass EKG competency testing prior to start
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high patient turnover (approximately 78–90 patients per week unit-wide)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers will be considered)
• Familiarity with EPIC (Dimensions) electronic health record system
• Experience caring for patients on opti-flow, BiPAP, or in a COVID-positive care environment
