Visiting Lab Lecturer, Chemistry

Position Overview The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is seeking a 9‑Month, non‑tenure earning, Visiting Laboratory Lecturer of Chemistry. Position responsibilities include a 5/5 teaching load or its equivalent, and service to the department, college, and university. The position will report to the Department Chair and is not a supervisory role. Working hours vary. The position is expected to begin on August 3, 2026. The job is open until filled. Job Functions Teach introductory and general chemistry laboratory courses, as well as laboratory courses in modern analytical, biochemistry, physical, and/or organic chemistry, depending on candidate experience. Prepare chemicals and equipment to ensure laboratory spaces are properly maintained and ready for instructional use. Collaborate with the Laboratory Manager and Laboratory Technician to provide laboratory support each term. Determine supplies and consumables to be ordered to support instructional laboratory activities. Preferred Qualifications & Skills Previous, documented experience in teaching undergraduate chemistry laboratory courses. Demonstrated commitment and capability to provide an excellent learning environment, apply student‑centered instructional methods, and contribute to the development and implementation of curricular content.
