Shipping Assistant / Forklift Operator

Job Description

This role supports the shipping and receiving operations in a manufacturing environment by assisting with picking and packing oil pans, handling products from production machines, and preparing items for shipment. The position combines hands-on warehouse work with basic data handling to ensure orders are processed accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Pick and pack oil pans and related products according to order specifications.
• Pull finished products from manufacturing machines and reload materials as needed to support ongoing production.
• Prepare items for shipment, including labeling, packaging, and staging orders for carrier pickup.
• Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading trucks and organizing incoming and outgoing materials.
• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely to move, stack, and store products.
• Perform basic data entry and documentation related to shipments, inventory, and order processing.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the warehouse and production zones.
• Follow established manufacturing, warehouse, and shipping procedures to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery.

Essential Skills

• Experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely.
• Understanding of basic shipping and receiving processes.
• Capability to perform repetitive tasks such as picking, packing, and loading with attention to detail.
• Basic data entry skills to record shipment and inventory information.
• Strong adherence to safety procedures and operational guidelines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing operations or machine support is beneficial.
• Experience as a shipping clerk, warehouse operator, or similar role is an advantage.
• Comfort working around production machinery and learning standard operating procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively with production and warehouse teams.

Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mason, OH.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
