As an Information Technology Specialist II you will have the opportunity to:

• Provide comprehensive technical support across multiple communication platforms, including landline systems, VOIP setups, and softphone applications
• Troubleshoot call quality, system integration, and hardware issues, as well as managing voice mail support and mobile device troubleshooting
• Handle routine administrative tasks such as password resets and phone number relocations and open service requests with phone providers to resolve technical issues promptly
• Deliver webinar support using standard webinar software, ensuring that customers can seamlessly participate in virtual sessions
• Maintain detailed documentation of support activities to generate reports on performance trends and recommend process improvements, ultimately contributing to efficient telecommunications operations and enhanced customer service

Desirable Qualifications We Look For:

• IT experience
• IT Service Desk & Call Center experience
• IT Telecommunications, MDM, VoIP, Webinar Support experience
• Ability to manage IT Telecommunications vendors, contracts, and carrier services
• Ability to manage IT Telecommunications projects and technology deployments
• Experience in auditing IT Telecommunications services and identifying cost-saving opportunities
• Reading and writing ability to effectively communicate complex issues

Working Conditions

Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for hours in the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) per month. For more details, please click here .

Special Requirements

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required for the hiring manager’s review. Applications submitted without an SOQ may be disqualified.

The SOQ should be no more than 1 page in length, single spaced, Arial font 11.

Your SOQ should address the following:

1. Describe your expertise leading the design, implementation, and support of enterprise telecommunication services.

2.Provide an example of a telecommunications project or operational challenge you led.

3.Describe your leadership philosophy and experience leading technical staff.
