About the Position

Job Title: Registered Dietitian Profession: Dietetics Specialty: - Duration: 14 weeks Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Hours per Shift: 7 Experience: Minimum one (1) year of experience, preferred two (2) years of experience License: Client Certification as a Dietitian-Nutritionist, Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration as a Registered Dietitian Certifications: AHA BLS preferred Must-Have: - Food Service - Clinical Documentation - Long Term Care - Nutrition Care - Clinical Assessment Description: Monitors patients for and provides education on food/drug interactions. Records food and drug interactions in the education section. Consults with physicians regarding appropriate diet modification. Screens and assesses patients in an accurate and timely manner based on levels of care. Determines patients' nutritional needs and status and provides follow-up care. Interviews patients and/or their families to obtain history of food habits and preferences. Interprets pertinent laboratory, physical, and social data in the medical record as it applies to nutrition care. Provides nutrition education and records patient's diet and diet instructions and the patient's understanding of the diet in the education section. Modifies patient menus as needed. Responsible for the provision of nutritional care to patients/residents from different populations and disease states. Provides nutrition education to patients/residents and/or family members in Long Term Acute Care and Skilled Nursing Facilities. Participates in performance improvement activities. Acts as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
