Assistant Store Manager

We are looking for an Assistant Store Manager to join us this upcoming season at Switchback Sports. The Assistant Store Manager needs to be someone passionate about the outdoors with a drive to help customers and staff on their journey exploring our incredible world, and perpetuate the sports that we all love. We are looking for someone with great leadership skills that can train staff and offer an incredible customer experience to our guests. We are excited to be growing into new product segments as well as growing our footprint in the Mountain West. We are still a young company and there is continuous room for growth and upward mobility within the company.

Job Responsibilities:

• Opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain a clean, well merchandised retail environment.
• Responsible for handling all cash related payments.
• Oversee equipment being serviced and provide customers with a timeline.
• Ability to train staff in all aspects of daily operations. This includes product knowledge, all shop processes pertaining to retail, rental, repair, and sales.
• Assist customers in purchasing the right gear by combining product knowledge and an understanding of what best fits their needs.
• Help to build and sustain a professional and guest friendly shop culture.
• Manage and assist staff members in sales, service, and rental.
• Knowledge of all products and services in store.
• Implement pricing discretion of up to $100 on used skis/boots and 10% on demo bikes.
• Can substitute the value of accessories for pricing discounts.
• Handle customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally
• Check, respond, and clear store email.
• Communicate current promotions to staff and customers.
• Be able to evaluate and review employee's performance.
• Assist in creating and implementing retail and rental SOPs.
• Accuracy of inventory counts and receiving, shrink, tagging, and delivery of product to respective departments.
• Understanding and execution of all safety standards for employees and guests.
• Knowledge of risk management and company liability.
• Assist store manager with sell through and reorder needs as seasons progress.
• Provide feedback to managers and owners on new/existing products for seasonal buying.
• All other duties, activities and processes as assigned

*Must have ski shop or outdoor recreation retail experience

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
