Pharmacy Technician Position At Hospitality Health ER

Hospitality Health ER is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Longview, TX. The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for maintaining medication inventory, ensuring medications and medical supplies are properly stocked and within expiration guidelines, and supporting the overall readiness and organization of clinical areas. This is a PRN position offering an opportunity to build a long-term career with a collaborative healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

• Stock assigned locations with medications and medical supplies.
• Maintain medication stock in medical carts, cabinets, pharmacies, and other designated areas.
• Monitor refrigerated medications to ensure proper storage, expiration dates, and adequate inventory.
• Rotate medications using proper inventory practices and ensure expiration date stickers are applied.
• Check and maintain daily temperature logs for designated locations.
• Monitor crash cart check-offs and notify the Charge Lead Nurse of any missed checks.
• Receive and stock new medications in pharmacy storage.
• Label medications with appropriate expiration date stickers and rotate inventory to ensure older medications are used first.
• Maintain clean, organized, and clutter-free medical rooms and pharmacy areas.
• Inspect and maintain specialty emergency boxes, including ENT, Eye, RSI, Dental, Pneumothorax, Hypothermia, STEMI, and Anaphylaxis boxes.
• Ensure medical cart expiration indicators are current and identify medications approaching expiration.
• Remove expired medications and replace inventory as needed, including proactive replacement of medications nearing expiration.
• Follow all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate inventory and demonstrate strong attention to detail.
• Provide coverage and remain flexible to support departmental needs, including on-call responsibilities when necessary.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Current Pharmacy Technician License issued by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) and maintained in current status.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous customer service experience required; direct patient care experience preferred.
• Healthcare or clinical environment experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to take initiative, meet deadlines, and complete responsibilities accurately.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to read, speak, and write English.
• Current, unrestricted driver's license.
• Ability to maintain flexibility and availability for on-call or coverage needs.
• Demonstrated competency in Physical Assessment within 90 days, as evaluated by the Manager of Facility Services.
• Must demonstrate integrity and responsibility when handling company resources, including a company credit card, petty cash, and company vehicle.
