Heavy Equipment Operator

Overview

The Heavy Equipment Operator safely and efficiently operates mobile equipment to support log yard, raw material handling, production, and shipping activities throughout the facility. This position plays a critical role in maintaining material flow, supporting production objectives, and ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, quality, and operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy equipment including loaders, forklifts, excavators, skid steers, and other mobile equipment as assigned
• Assist with yard management activities to maximize operational efficiency and product accessibility
• Conduct pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections and complete required documentation
• Perform routine housekeeping and cleanup duties in operating areas
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, operators, truck drivers, and team members using radios and other communication systems

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year safely operating heavy equipment in an industrial environment
• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
• Experience in an advanced operator role; above general labor level
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
