Teradata Engineer

Our client, a Fortune 50 Financial Services company, is seeking a Teradata Engineer to join their team. Job Title: Teradata Engineer Location: Charlotte, NC Key Responsibilities Provide infrastructure-level support for Teradata specialty software , including: Data Mover Query Grid Viewpoint BCM (Backup & Control Management) Perform platform operations, troubleshooting, tuning, and configuration activities within the Teradata environment. Support and enhance the stability and performance of the Teradata ecosystem outside the database layer. Execute low‑to‑moderately complex engineering tasks, analyze technical issues, evaluate alternatives, and document recommendations. Contribute to process improvements within Database Engineering and assist with developing and refining operational support models. Collaborate with peers, engineering teams, and stakeholders to resolve issues, upgrade software, deploy patches, and support platform needs. Maintain strong adherence to enterprise policies, security standards, compliance requirements, and change‑management procedures. Provide engineering support information to clients and internal teams as required. Must – Have Skills Hands‑on experience supporting Teradata infrastructure, specifically: Data Mover Query Grid Viewpoint BCM Strong UNIX (SLES – SUSE Linux Enterprise Server) experience . Proven experience in an infrastructure support role involving enterprise database platforms. Nice to Have (Highly Preferred) AI/automation experience (major differentiator for candidate resumes). Certificate management support. Vulnerability management experience. Experience with Data Domain and Object Store environments. Experience with Ansible and EPLX .
