As a Security Officer Patrol Access Management in Salem, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer at a utilities location, you will monitor access points, conduct routine patrols, respond to security-related concerns, and help maintain a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. You will remain visible to help deter incidents while delivering exceptional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a utility location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and document visitor, contractor, and vehicle activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency responders according to established procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
