Director of Operations

About The Role Psychplus is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Outpatient Services to oversee the clinical, operational, and administrative aspects of our outpatient behavioral health programs. This leader will ensure the delivery of exceptional care in both virtual and in‑person outpatient settings, while collaborating closely with inpatient teams to support seamless patient transitions and continuity of care. Responsibilities Lead the day‑to‑day operations of outpatient behavioral health services across multiple locations and virtual platforms. Design, implement, and monitor standardized clinical workflows, treatment protocols, and operational procedures to ensure high‑quality, evidence‑based care. Collaborate with inpatient and transitional care teams to ensure smooth handoffs and comprehensive discharge planning. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CARF, state and federal guidelines). Establish and track key performance metrics, including patient outcomes, utilization rates, provider productivity, and patient satisfaction. Supervise and support clinic managers, therapists, psychiatric providers, and administrative staff. Drive patient access initiatives including scheduling optimization, referral coordination, and waitlist management. Partner with executive leadership to develop and implement growth strategies, including expansion into new markets or service lines. Develop training and onboarding programs for outpatient staff to ensure consistency and excellence in service delivery. Implement quality improvement initiatives based on data, patient feedback, and provider input. Act as a liaison to community organizations, referral partners, and payors, promoting program visibility and access. Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for outpatient operations. Requirements Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) required. Master’s degree in a behavioral health discipline, healthcare administration, public health, or related field; clinical licensure preferred. 5+ years of leadership experience in behavioral health, with at least 3 years overseeing outpatient clinical operations. Experience managing multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations and modalities (in‑person and telehealth). Strong understanding of behavioral health treatment models, regulatory compliance, and outcome‑based care. Knowledge of EHR systems and comfort with healthcare technology platforms. Proven track record of driving operational efficiency, clinical quality, and patient satisfaction. Compassionate leadership style with a focus on team development, accountability, and collaboration. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment. Additional Information The expected base pay for this role will be between $110,000 and $140,000 per year at the commencement of employment. Base pay will be determined on an individualized basis and may also include incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, and other short‑ and long‑term incentive packages, as part of Psychplus Health‑sponsored benefits.
