REPORTS TO: Director of Transportation GENERAL DUTIES:
- Ability to locate and diagnose minor and frequently occurring mechanical problems.
- Ability to repair and replace damaged parts of vehicles bodies using acetylene or electric welding equipment as well as other repair equipment.
- Ability to remove, replace and reassemble transmissions, clutches, fuel, oil and water pumps, generators and other parts of the motor block and suspension.
- Ability to fill fuel trucks and add or change oil and filters.
- Any other duties and responsibilities that are assigned by the Mechanic Foreman, Mechanic II or Director.
- A high school diploma.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver's License Class A or B endorsements P & S within the first 3 months of employment.
- Obtain and maintain NC DPI School Bus Inspection License within the first year of employment.
- Three years of experience in the repair and maintenance of automotive equipment.
- Technical training in automotive equipment preferred.
- The stated deadline will be strictly adhered to. All applications must be on-line with the Public Schools of Robeson County by 5:00 p.m. on the stated deadline date in order to be considered for the position.
