Job Description
Job Title: Vascular Interventional Radiology Technologist
Profession: Radiology / Cardiology

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required, may consider 1+ year with Level I or Level II trauma experience
License: Must hold a state radiologic license (pending accepted)
Certifications: ARRT or current equivalent certification, BLS Certification


Must-Have:
- High school diploma or GED
- Graduate of an accredited radiography program
- Competent as an assistant to the Interventional Radiologist
- Knowledge of imaging equipment including fluoroscopy, computed tomography (CT), and ultrasound


Description:
The Vascular Interventional Radiology Technologist is responsible for assisting the Interventional Radiologist in minimally invasive, image-guided vascular procedures.
Roles include scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating during procedures.
Common procedures include abdominal aortograms with runoff, fistulagrams, carotid angiograms, and EVARs.
Must be able to operate fluoroscopy and C-arm equipment.
The department averages 20 patients per day and conducts procedures with a staffing ratio of 2:1 technologists to nurses.
Charting is done through an electronic medical record system.
The facility is equipped with advanced imaging technology and performs both endovascular and open procedures.
Weekend and holiday call is required as part of the responsibilities.
Candidates should be prepared for potential call hours and weekend rotations.
