E-Commerce Analyst

This role is ideal for a highly analytical, organized, and detail-oriented professional who enjoys bringing accuracy and polish to every aspect of e-commerce. The successful candidate is comfortable working with spreadsheets and large product catalogs, has a strong eye for visual presentation, and notices details others overlook—from spreadsheet discrepancies to image alignment, formatting consistency, and copy accuracy. They are eager to learn new software and AI tools, adapt to changing priorities, and take pride in producing high-quality work with minimal oversight.

What We're Looking For

Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to identify discrepancies in spreadsheets, product data, imagery, copy, and formatting before publication. Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining accuracy. A high standard for quality and presentation, ensuring product pages, imagery, and marketing assets reflect a premium customer experience. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, with the ability to accurately organize, maintain, and update large volumes of product data, including bulk edits and CSV imports/exports. Ability to quickly learn new software, AI tools, and e-commerce platforms. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and sound judgment. Excellent written communication and copyediting skills.

Core Responsibilities

Shopify Store Management & Merchandising

Build, launch, and maintain Shopify product pages, including sourcing imagery, writing and editing product descriptions, populating metafields, and ensuring merchandising best practices. Manage an 8,000+ SKU catalog using collections, tags, product types, and structured categorization to create an intuitive shopping experience. Create and maintain collections for vendors, seasons, holidays, and promotions, ensuring new products are added promptly and discontinued products are removed. Audit existing product pages for accuracy, consistency, SEO (titles, meta descriptions, URLs), imagery, and overall customer experience. Ensure product listings reflect the latest vendor assets, specifications, pricing, and inventory information.

Site Maintenance & Optimization

Maintain the overall quality, accuracy, and freshness of the website through ongoing updates to products, collections, imagery, and merchandising. Edit and optimize product imagery to improve presentation, user experience, and conversion. Ensure visual consistency across the website by maintaining high standards for image quality, alignment, spacing, typography, and overall presentation. Maintain and prioritize a running list of Shopify improvements, merchandising opportunities, and website optimization projects.

Data, Inventory & Pricing Management

Use Matrixify to perform bulk product updates, pricing changes, promotions, vendor price increases, and catalog maintenance. Use Eniteo to monitor new and restocked inventory, identify listings requiring updates, and track product costs, weights, and availability. Monitor competitor and vendor pricing to ensure market competitiveness and identify promotional opportunities. Regularly audit catalog data for consistency, completeness, and accuracy.

Analytics & Reporting

Track and analyze performance across Shopify, email marketing, social media, and other digital marketing channels. Build recurring reports using Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets to identify trends, measure performance, and support business decisions. Analyze weekly and monthly sales, merchandising, customer behavior, gifting trends, and top performing collections. Monitor traffic, customer behavior, conversion rates, average order value, and merchandising performance. Identify opportunities to improve the customer journey through data and testing. Translate findings into clear recommendations and actionable next steps.

Content & Collaboration

Partner with the Director of E-Commerce to execute merchandising initiatives and marketing content across Shopify, email, social media, and other digital channels. Write clear, compelling, conversion-focused copy for product pages, emails, advertisements, and marketing campaigns. Create and edit marketing assets using Canva and other design tools. Leverage AI tools to improve efficiency while maintaining Maison & Tavola's luxury brand voice. Collaborate with internal teams to execute product launches, seasonal campaigns, and merchandising initiatives. Learn and adopt new software, AI tools, and e-commerce platforms as business needs evolve.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Advertising, or a related field Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, including working with large datasets, CSV files, filters, sorting, formulas, conditional formatting, lookups (XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP), pivot tables, and reporting. Proficiency with Canva and basic image editing for web and marketing assets. Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Strong writing and copyediting abilities. Highly analytical with a data-driven mindset. Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently. Eager and able to learn new software, platforms, and AI tools quickly.

Ideal Candidate

2+ years of Shopify experience managing a large e-commerce catalog. Strong understanding of e-commerce merchandising and conversion optimization. Comfortable working daily in Excel and Google Sheets to organize, maintain, and update large product catalogs. Exposure to Meta (Facebook & Instagram), Pinterest, Klaviyo, or other digital marketing platforms is a plus. Able to independently prioritize competing projects and make sound decisions with minimal oversight. Exceptional eye for detail, ensuring product imagery, layouts, copy, and formatting consistently meet the highest quality standards. Takes pride in producing polished, accurate work that reflects a premium customer experience.
