Base Pay Range

$180,000.00/yr - $250,000.00/yr

As a Tax Director, you’ll take on a pivotal leadership role, overseeing sophisticated tax engagements, deepening client partnerships, and steering business expansion. You’ll lead a team of talented professionals, champion technical precision, and identify new opportunities that drive both client success and firm growth. The ideal candidate is an influential advisor with a strategic mindset, proven leadership experience, and a passion for delivering excellence in every client interaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Expand revenue within existing client relationships through proactive service and strategic insights.
• Lead short‑term and long‑term business planning, identifying growth opportunities and contributing to firm‑wide objectives.
• Manage practice performance, meeting goals related to billing, realization, and individual charge hours.
• Develop and execute a personal marketing and business development plan, including new client acquisition and cross‑serving existing clients.
• Serve as a key client contact, maintaining strong relationships and acting as a trusted business advisor.
• Ensure quality control standards are consistently met across all engagements.
• Oversee and mentor staff, managing engagement teams and supporting professional development.
• Act as an internal technical advisor and Subject Matter Expert on complex tax issues.
• Participate as a member of the Senior Operations Management Team, contributing to strategic decisions and firm leadership.
• Foster a positive, team‑oriented culture, supporting collaboration and alignment with management goals.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in public accounting or a related field.
• At least 6 years of supervisory experience with proven leadership and staff development capabilities.
• Active CPA license or equivalent certification required.
• Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in applicable tax and accounting technologies.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated integrity, client service excellence, and business acumen.
• Ability to travel based on client and business needs.
