Paramedic PRN Days

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – Community Hospital North (13531) Role Overview PRN Paramedic – Day Shift. The Paramedic will assist nursing and physician staff in patient care in the emergency room and med/surg unit, and work as a member of the rapid response team. All duties are performed under the scope of the Oklahoma State Department of Health “Standard of Care” (310:641-5-30) and under the direction of the Emergency Services Medical Director and Facility CNO. Essential Functions Collaborate in the assessment of patients in a timely, systematic manner, assisting the RN with admission data. Gather and record patient data for ongoing assessment and before release or discharge. Notify ED providers and nurses of changes in patient condition. Obtain and interpret patient information in an understandable way for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Implement and provide care under RN direction to achieve identified outcomes according to policy and procedure. Perform procedures at the licensed level, following guidelines and delegated tasks. Delegate appropriate and approved tasks to unlicensed health‑care providers. Recognize dysrhythmias and notify the assigned nurse and/or physician promptly. Monitor patients requiring constant cardiac monitoring during transport, ensuring effective communication. Maintain strict confidentiality of patients, employees, and hospital business. Ensure a clean, safe workplace; perform daily restock of supplies at shift start. Maintain equipment, instruments, and trays in working order; report and label faulty equipment. Demonstrate knowledge of appropriate lead placement for routine cardiac monitoring and 12‑lead ECG; perform 12‑lead ECG per policy. Perform clerical duties efficiently on desk duty, answering phone with appropriate etiquette, and use overhead paging system professionally. Licensure & Experience Current Licensed Paramedic with the State of Oklahoma. Computer and office equipment skills. BLS healthcare provider certification required within 30 days of hire; ACLS and PALS within 90 days of hire. #J-18808-Ljbffr Community Hospital OKC
