District Support Pharmacist Part Time

Overview As a District Support Pharmacist (DSP) at CVS Health, you will help fill scheduling gaps, lead pharmacy operations, and provide patient-centered care across multiple retail locations within the district. Responsibilities Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator. Serve as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts and oversee daily pharmacy operations. Ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by directing the pharmacy team and following workflow procedures and safety guardrails. Provide compassionate patient counseling, coaching the team to demonstrate empathy and resolve insurance or medication issues. Offer and administer immunizations, supporting technicians to learn immunization protocols. Manage pharmacy inventory, focusing on cold chain products and inventory best practices. Support pharmacist‑delivered clinical care services such as COVID/Flu testing and prescribing (e.g., hormonal contraception) where permissible. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and CVS Health policies, including controlled substance dispensing and record‑keeping. Perform required trainings, CMEs, and stay current with evolving clinical and technical skills. Assist with accessing care and improving patient outcomes through pharmacist‑led services. Adapt to staffing and business needs, ensuring flexible scheduling and a safe, inclusive team dynamic. Contribute to a positive patient experience through empathy, collaboration, and proactive problem resolution. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist license in the state where the store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. Preferred Qualifications 1–2 years of related pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer‑service experience. Key Competencies Physical ability: be mobile, lift up to 20lb, reach overhead, and maintain visual acuity for detailed tasks. Attention and focus: concentrate on tasks and pivot quickly between responsibilities. Customer service orientation: communicate friendly and empathetic, respond to patient reactions appropriately. Communication skills: use verbal and written communication, active listening, and clear instruction. Mathematical reasoning: calculate medication quantities and dispense accurately. Problem resolution: choose appropriate solutions for challenging patient or colleague interactions. Physical Demands Mobile, upright for extended periods; lift 10–20lb; close visual acuity; repetitive finger movements. Compensation & Hours Anticipated weekly hours: 20. Time type: Part‑time. Pay range: $60.00–$73.00 per hour. Eligible for bonus, commission, or short‑term incentive program.
