This position requires the candidate to have their Class A CDL with two or more years of experience and a clean driving record. A successful candidate needs to be a team player as this position requires the employee to jump in with the Receiving Team when they are not driving.Duties & ResponsibilitiesApproximately 70% DrivingDrive haul runs up to or exceeding one-hour commute (one way)You must be willing to communicate and cooperate with customers, respond to their questions, and safely operate delivery vehicle in compliance with company and DOT Guidelines, Rules and RegulationsPerform regular safety inspections of equipment in keeping with company SOPs and OSHA standardsCommunicate professionally with warehouses, including notifying loaders by phone if you will be late for a scheduled drop-off or pickupFollow a schedule of weekly recurring local runs between customersCount product during loading and/or unloadingOther duties as assignedApproximately 30% Receiving HandlerThe expectation is when the employee is not driving, they will join the receiving team to assist with their daily tasks. This may include but is not limited to:Document control, tracking and reportingManages change when unforeseen conditions require adjustments to work plan and scheduleLoading and unloading materialsOther duties as assignedRequirementsCurrent Class A CDL, with a clean driving record for the last 3 years2+ years of experience as a CDL driverAbility to use navigation tools such as GPS, smartphone apps and/or web-based mapsExcellent communicationAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong verbal and writing skills in EnglishForklift experience is a plus1 year flatbed/step deck experiencePhysical Requirements/Work Environment This position requires moderate physical activity in a factory environment. To perform the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body. The employee must be able to spend time standing on a factory floor and balance for extended periods of time; be able to sit in a vehicle to perform the driving tasks; be able to move over and around obstacles and climb stairs; be able to lift up to 50 pounds of weight or pull and push material to receive and inspect the same.
