Job Title: Electrical Technician Job Description

This role offers the opportunity to work as an Electrical Technician building specialized medical RVs and vans that bring critical healthcare services to patients in rural areas. You will take completely gutted vehicles and install electrical systems from start to finish, ensuring they are fully wired, assembled, and ready for safe, reliable operation on the road.

Responsibilities

  • Install, assemble, and wire complete electrical systems in medical RVs and vans, starting from fully gutted vehicles and bringing them to full operational readiness.

  • Wire gear boxes, motors, and related components, including work with 480-volt systems, following all safety and quality standards.

  • Interpret and follow electrical blueprints, schematics, and detailed specifications to ensure accurate installation and configuration of all electrical components.

  • Pull, route, and terminate electrical wiring throughout the vehicle, including running conduit and organizing wiring for safety, accessibility, and serviceability.

  • Use hand tools and power tools to assemble, mount, and secure electrical panels, equipment, and components according to design requirements.

  • Work in ergonomically tight spaces, including bending, squatting, reaching, and maneuvering in small or confined areas within the vehicle structure.

  • Collaborate with team members and trainers during an initial training period of approximately 90 days to learn processes, standards, and best practices until you can work independently.

  • Contribute to the full build cycle of each RV, typically over a 12–15 week period, ensuring that all electrical work is completed on schedule and meets quality expectations.

  • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs as needed during the build process to resolve issues and ensure proper system functionality.

  • Follow safety procedures and company guidelines at all times, maintaining a clean and organized work area.

  • Support overtime work on Fridays as needed to meet production schedules and project deadlines.

Essential Skills

  • Proven electrical experience with hands-on work in installation, assembly, or maintenance of electrical systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, drawings, and schematics, even if not at expert level.

  • Experience pulling wire, routing wiring, and making proper electrical connections in a structured environment.

  • Proficiency using hand tools and power tools commonly used in electrical assembly and installation.

  • Comfort working with 480-volt electrical systems and related components, with attention to safety.

  • Capability to work in ergonomically challenging positions, including bending, squatting, reaching, and operating in tight or confined spaces.

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and specifications from start to finish on complex projects.

  • Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled environment where temperatures can be hot in the summer and cool in the winter.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, reliable electrical installations.

  • Willingness to complete an extensive training period of approximately 90 days to become fully proficient in the role.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with electrical assembly in vehicles, RVs, or similar mobile platforms.

  • Background in electrical maintenance or experience as a maintenance technician.

  • Familiarity with conduit installation and routing within complex structures.

  • Experience working with electronics and electrical systems in a production or manufacturing setting.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a production team over multi-week build cycles.

  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with various mechanical components alongside electrical systems.

Why Work Here?

You will contribute directly to meaningful projects that deliver essential medical services to communities that might otherwise go without care. The role offers a structured build process, ongoing training, and support to help you grow into working independently. You can benefit from opportunities for biannual raises, reflecting your performance and development over time. The environment values hands-on craftsmanship, reliability, and pride in building high-impact, specialized vehicles.

Work Environment

This position is based in a production facility where medical RVs and vans are built and outfitted. The work environment is non-climate-controlled, meaning it can be hot in the summer and cool in the winter. You will work primarily on a first shift schedule from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with overtime on Fridays as needed to meet project demands. The role involves frequent use of hand tools and power tools, working around electrical panels, wiring, and mechanical assemblies. You will regularly work in tight and confined spaces inside vehicles, requiring bending, squatting, and reaching throughout the day. The facility operates as a hands-on, shop-floor environment focused on safety, teamwork, and completing full vehicle builds over 12–15 week cycles.
