Job Description
Sterile Processing Technician

General Information

This position involves working in a sterile processing department with the following details:

Number of Operating Rooms: 16
Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years of experience in acute care preferred; will consider ambulatory experience
First-Time Travelers: Not accepted
Required Licensure and Certifications: High School Diploma; CRCST preferred

Required Skills

Proficiency in decontamination
Low-temperature sterilization
Steam sterilization
Instrument assembly

Department Support

The department is supported by a manager, supervisor, lead technicians, and an educator.

Technology and Equipment

EMR: Censitrac
Sterilizer: STERIS Evolution
Unit-Specific Equipment:
- Vpro x3
- Sonics x2
- Cart washers x2
- Instrument washers x3
- Autoclaves x4 (including 1 small)

Work Environment

Floating: Not applicable
Orientation: Orientation within the department on day shift for a couple of weeks before transitioning to contracted shifts
Weekend Rotation: Usually every third weekend, subject to change due to PTO
Holiday Expectations: Possible but no specific requirements
Request for Time Off (RTO) Approvals: Managed by the department manager
Shift Times: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
Schedule Cycle: Every 4 weeks, typically released about a month in advance

Scrub Color: Supplied by the department
Parking: Free parking available on the bottom two levels of the parking garage or in the lot behind the garage. Please avoid parking in unauthorized areas to prevent ticketing.
