Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist The Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist independently leads the credentialing and privileging of each individual practitioner applying for Medical Staff Appointment and Membership, and ensures compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules & Regulations, Credentialing Policies & Procedures, APP Credentialing Policies & Procedures, Joint Commission (TJC) Medical Staff standards, National Commission on Quality Assurance (NCQA) standards, State regulations and Conditions of Medicare Standards (CMS) and Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC) as applicable and related to medical staff credentialing and privileging. The Credentialing Specialist conducts in‑depth reviews and analysis of all provider applications, qualifications, training, experience and accompanying documentation. This role oversees the Managed Care credentialing process and Health Plan Enrollment. Provides subject matter expertise to the Credentials Committee. Prepares Credential agenda and provides supports to the Chair and Vice Chair, Credentials Committee. Acts as a liaison between Department Charis and Administrators and Human Resources to ensure efficient onboarding for credentialed providers. The Joint Commission (TJC) Medical Staff standards, National Commission on Quality Assurance (NCQA) standards, State regulations and Conditions of Medicare Standards (CMS) and Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC) as applicable and related to medical staff credentialing and privileging. The Credentialing Specialist conducts an in‑depth review and analysis of the providers’ application, qualifications, training, experience and accompanying documentation. The coordinator leads all duties related to the Managed Care credentialing/re‑credentialing process and Health Plan enrollment. Provides subject matter expertise to the Credentials Committee. Prepares Credential agenda and provides support to the Chair and Vice Chair, Credentials Committee. Acts as a liaison between Department Chairs and Administrators and Human Resources to ensure efficient onboarding for credentialed providers. Required Qualifications Associate’s degree In lieu of a degree, a High School diploma or equivalent plus an additional 2 years of relevant experience for a total of 7 years will be considered. Five (5) years’ experience in a credentialing and/or managed care role in an office, academic or healthcare setting. Certified Professional Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) by NAMSS (National Association Medical Staff Services) Salary Range $23.32 - $35.52 Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job‑related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
