Job Overview

Experienced Cardiac Cath Lab RN needed to provide care for patients before, during, and after cardiac catheterization, angiography, and interventional cardiac procedures

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-procedure assessments and prepare patients for Cath Lab procedures.
• Administer pre-procedure medications and provide patient education.
• Provide nursing care throughout cardiac catheterization and angiography procedures.
• Monitor patients during and after procedures, including cardiac rhythm and hemodynamic status.
• Assist physicians and other Cath Lab team members during procedures.
• Scrub into procedures when needed/preferred.
• Operate and monitor equipment including:
  • Hemodynamic monitoring
  • Cardiac output equipment
  • Temporary pacemakers/ICDs
  • Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP)
• Complete accurate Cath Lab documentation and procedure records.
• Provide post-cath recovery and monitoring.
• Transfer patients as needed.
• Maintain supplies and assist with basic Cath Lab/office duties.

Required Experience

• 2+ years Critical Care experience
• 1+ year Electrophysiology experience
• Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Experience/knowledge operating an IABP
• Associate's Degree required
• ACLS – AHA
• BLS – AHA
• Michigan RN license

Preferred

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• IR/Neuro experience
• Previous experience scrubbing Cath Lab procedures

Call

• Up to 10 call shifts per 4-week rotation
• Weekend call included
• 30-minute response time required
• Weekends are call only
