Network Engineer Contract type: Contract to Hire Salary: 180k max Location: Newington, VA Clearance: TS/SCI Interview Process: 2-3 interviews: An initial screening followed by one or more technical and leadership-focused interviews. Interviews are generally conducted via audio/video, with potential in-person discussions. Zachary Piper Solutions are currently seeking a Network Engineer who will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on a Network Engineer joining our team to design, secure, and maintain resilient network architectures that enable uninterrupted communication, real-time data sharing, and mission-critical system availability for government customers in dynamic, high-stakes environments. Responsibilities for the Network Engineer include: Expertise in routing and switching protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP. Experience with LAN/WAN architecture, design, and deployment. Proficiency with network monitoring and performance tools (e.g., SolarWinds, NetFlow, Wireshark). Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, QoS, and load balancers. Strong background working with Cisco platforms including Catalyst, Nexus, and ACI. Qualifications for the Network Engineer include: Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts. Ability to engage with senior leadership and influence technical and strategic decisions. Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills in large, complex network environments. Ability to collaborate across multiple technical disciplines and operate effectively under pressure while managing competing priorities.
