Infection Control/Prevention Program Manager

The Infection Control/Prevention Program Manager is responsible for overseeing infection prevention initiatives across all patient care areas, including inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, surgical, and procedural settings. This role also entails collaborating with clinical staff to ensure strict adherence to infection control standards and practices.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conduct device and environment of care (EOC) rounding.
• Assist in orienting newly hired staff within the department.
• Perform surveillance for healthcare-associated infections and device-related infections, including surgical site infections (SSI).
• Participate in safety huddles and rounding across procedural, inpatient, ambulatory, and emergency department areas regularly.

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree in nursing, public health, epidemiology, medical technology, or a related healthcare field.
• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is required.
• Previous experience in infection control with a preference for applicants with leadership experience.
• Proficient knowledge of communicable diseases and infection prevention practices.

The role requires flexibility with a standard shift of 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend reviews of construction activities. No holiday work is required.

Staff members who are registered nurses may wear navy scrubs, while non-RNs should wear black scrubs. Business casual attire is expected in the department.

Successful candidates will participate in an orientation program, working closely with the Quality Director and the Regional Infection Prevention leader.
