Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Level I trauma/burn ICU position requiring an active IL license and at least 2 years of ICU experience.

Job Details

• Work in the ICU of a 562-bed acute care hospital that is a Level I trauma center and Magnet-designated facility,
• Primarily a trauma/burn ICU unit that also receives medical and cardiac overflow patients,
• Average daily census of 10-12 patients with a typical ratio of 1:1 to 1:2-3,
• Night shift schedule, working 3x12-hour shifts from 1845-0715,
• Required to work every other weekend,
• Uses Cerner charting system,
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities,
• Any solid color scrubs permitted,

Job Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license required and must be in hand at time of application,
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required,
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS,
• AHA or Red Cross certifications accepted; RQI cards not accepted,
• Prior travel nursing experience required,
• Cerner charting experience required,
• Teaching hospital experience preferred,
• Level II trauma experience preferred,
• Experience with critical care skills such as ventilator management, arterial line management, central line care, CRRT, and titration of vasoactive/cardiac drips,

Additional Information

• Provide direct critical care to trauma, burn, medical, and cardiac ICU patients,
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position,
• Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction,
• Previous permanent or PRN employees of the hospital system must be separated for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler,
• RTO is ideally limited to no more than 5 days,
• Candidates must work 2 of the 3 major holidays,
• Travel pairs are not accepted for this position,
• First day of the assignment consists of virtual, at-home orientation with required modules to be completed by 4:00 PM CST
