Neuroradiology Faculty Position
Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Department of Diagnostic Radiology is seeking a full-time faculty member for our Neuroradiology Section. Appointment will be at the level of assistant, associate or full professor, depending upon qualifications.
As the only academic medical center in the state of Oregon, OHSU provides a full spectrum of care to a large and diverse population. The Neuroradiology section covers the OHSU Hospital as well as the connected Doernbecher Children's Hospital, the connected Portland VA Medical Center, and two community-based outpatient imaging centers. The department has state of the art imaging equipment and sees patients with a wide mix of complexity and pathology. Academic activities within the section are centered on the promotion of excellence in the evidence-based application, performance, and interpretation of Neuroradiology Imaging.
The campus offers excellent opportunities for multidisciplinary research, with a history of innovative and collaborative studies. OHSU is home to numerous specialized research centers and institutes, including one of the first Clinical and Translational Sciences Award-funded programs in the country (the Oregon Clinical and Translational Research Institute), the Advanced Imaging Research Center (dedicated to improving medical imaging}, the Knight Cancer Institute, the Dotter Interventional institute, and the Knight Cardiovascular Institute. The Advanced Imaging Research Center has dedicated research magnets including two 3T, one human 7T, and an animal 12T. The Knight Cancer Institute is the only NCI-designated Cancer Center in Oregon. Collaboration between clinical and neurologic research is enhanced by the Oregon Brain Institute.
Function/Duties of Position
Clinical responsibilities will include interpretation of all aspects of neuroradiology including brain, spine, ENT, pediatric neuroimaging, fMRI, DTI and perfusion studies. Collegial interdisciplinary conferences and tumor boards are staffed by neuroradiologists. Educational responsibilities and opportunities include teaching at all levels commensurate with a large academic center including medical student, resident and fellow training.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must be ABR board certifying eligible after passing the ABR Core Exam and successful completion of an ACGME-accredited residency. International Medical Graduates are eligible for the position provided they have a valid ECFMG certificate, have completed an ACGME-accredited residency and ABR Core Exam, or are otherwise board-eligible through the ABR IMG Alternate Pathway program. Candidates who have recently matched for fellowship, as well as those with expertise and fellowship training in other subspecialties of radiology are encouraged to apply.
