Executive Search Talent Consultant

ProFound Executive Search is hiring part-time Executive Search Talent Consultants to join our firm in a virtual, contract role. The role reports to ProFound's Founder and CEO.

Position Summary

We are seeking experienced executive search and talent acquisition professionals to support candidate research, sourcing, and screening across ProFound's executive searches. This individual will help identify prospective candidates, engage talent within and beyond the applicant pool, and conduct initial screening conversations with candidates being considered for advancement in ProFound's search process.

This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys both discovering exceptional talent and engaging accomplished leaders in conversations about their experience, career background, and alignment with an opportunity. The individual must be able to quickly understand a client organization, its leadership needs, and the qualifications established for a search, and use that context to make evidence-based candidate evaluations.

As one of the first direct points of contact candidates may have with ProFound, this individual will represent both ProFound and our clients with professionalism, credibility, and a welcoming approach. The role offers the opportunity to work across a range of executive and senior leadership searches, build relationships with accomplished leaders, and contribute directly to the development of highly qualified candidate pools.

Position Responsibilities

• Search Calibration: Develop a strong understanding of each client organization, position specification, and candidate evaluation criteria before beginning sourcing or screening activities.
• Talent Research: Research organizations, professional associations, networks, and other talent markets to identify potential sources of qualified candidates and strengthen ProFound's relevant talent communities. Partner with the CEO to establish an outreach strategy for each search, engaging relevant associations and partner networks to amplify the advertisement and sourcing of each role.
• Candidate Sourcing: Proactively identify prospective candidates whose backgrounds may align with search requirements, using research, professional networks, referrals, ProFound's CRM, LinkedIn, and other appropriate sourcing channels.
• Candidate Outreach: Conduct professional outreach to prospective candidates and referral sources to introduce ProFound opportunities, assess initial interest, and expand candidate pools beyond inbound applicants.
• Candidate Screening: Conduct structured screening conversations with executive candidates to understand their experience, qualifications, leadership background and alignment with the requirements of the position, including screening inbound applicants and sourced prospects.
• Candidate Evaluation: Apply ProFound's established evaluation criteria to assess candidate alignment and make recommendations regarding advancement to the next stage of the search process.
• Candidate Experience: Ensure a professional, inclusive, and welcoming experience that reflects ProFound's standards and appropriately represents the client organization throughout candidate interactions.
• Screening Documentation: Capture detailed and accurate notes from candidate conversations, including relevant examples and context that can inform internal and client-facing materials.
• CRM Management: Maintain complete and timely documentation of sourcing activity, candidate outreach, screening conversations, candidate evaluations, statuses, and other required information within ProFound's CRM.
• Team Collaboration: Participate in periodic internal and client-facing meetings as needed, share observations and market insights, and raise questions or emerging themes that may inform sourcing strategy or candidate evaluation.
• Brand Representation: Represent ProFound internally and externally with professionalism and in a manner consistent with the firm's values.

Time Commitment

This is a flexible, part-time role with a workload that will vary based on ProFound’s active search volume and the sourcing and screening needs associated with each search. Work will be concentrated during specific phases of a search, particularly during active candidate sourcing and screening periods. The individual will have some flexibility in determining when work is completed, while maintaining responsiveness to candidate scheduling needs, completing screening conversations and documentation within agreed-upon timelines, and participating in select search-related meetings as needed.

Location

This is a 100% remote role. The role offers significant flexibility in where work is completed; however, virtual candidate interviews must be conducted from a professional, private, and distraction-free environment, with professional attention to interview-appropriate attire, background, sound quality, and punctuality.

Compensation

This role features a performance-based compensation model tied to ProFound’s executive search volume and search engagements. Compensation includes a defined percentage of contracted search engagement fees for searches supported by this role, creating earning potential that grows with the firm’s search volume.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field
• Minimum 10 years of experience in executive search, talent acquisition, recruiting, or a related field, including direct experience sourcing and assessing senior-level or executive candidates
• Demonstrated ability to conduct professional candidate screening or assessment conversations and evaluate candidates against defined position and leadership requirements
• Ability to quickly understand an organization, its operating context, and the leadership capabilities required for a senior-level position
• Strong candidate research and sourcing skills, including experience identifying prospective talent beyond inbound applicants
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging credibly with executive and senior-level candidates
• Strong written communication skills, with the ability to capture detailed, objective, and useful information from candidate conversations
• Demonstrated ability to balance rigorous candidate assessment with a professional, welcoming, and inclusive candidate experience
• Experience working within a CRM, applicant tracking system, database, or similar recruiting technology platform
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage assigned search responsibilities, and consistently meet established timelines with limited oversight
• Ability to handle candidate and client information with discretion and maintain appropriate confidentiality
• Comfort operating in a small business or entrepreneurial environment where priorities and processes continue to evolve

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting CEO, Executive Director, C-suite, or other senior leadership searches
• Experience recruiting or sourcing leaders within nonprofit, foundation, human services, disability, and/or other mission-driven organizations
• Experience developing talent networks and cultivating referral sources across professional associations, membership organizations, and other communities
• Knowledge of inclusive hiring and candidate assessment practices
• Knowledge of disability inclusion and accessibility, with a preference for CPACC, WAS, CPWA, or similar certification
