You will be responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance, supporting staff development, troubleshooting complex testing and instrumentation issues, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and patient safety.This position is ideal for a laboratory professional who thrives in a leadership role and is committed to excellence in transfusion medicine.What You'll DoSupervise daily blood bank operations and laboratory personnelEnsure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety standardsOversee quality control and quality assurance programsTroubleshoot testing systems, instrumentation, and workflow issuesManage blood product inventory and distribution processesSupport staff training, competency assessment, and professional developmentCollaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinical teams on transfusion needsParticipate in implementation of new technologies and testing methodsMaintain accurate documentation and laboratory recordsQualificationsEducationBachelor 's degree in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technologyORAssociate degree in clinical laboratory science or medical technologyCompletion of an accredited laboratory training program requiredCertificationCertification eligibility as MLS (ASCP), MT (AMT), MLT (ASCP), HEW, CLS (NCA), or equivalentCertification required within 12 months of eligibility per CLIA standards (if applicable)ExperienceMinimum of 2 years of high-complexity laboratory experience with a bachelor's degreeORMinimum of 4 years of high-complexity laboratory experience with an associate degreeSchedule & LocationPosition: Blood Bank Section SupervisorDepartment: LaboratoryStatus: Full-TimeSchedule: Day Shift | 10-hour shifts | 40 hours per weekGateway Regional Medical Center2100 Madison AvenueGranite City, IL 62040Compensation$25.71–$41.65 per hourCompensation is determined based on education, experience, certifications, and relevant skills.
