Electrical Estimator

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join a growing electrical contracting team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and mission-critical projects. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of electrical systems, estimating software, takeoff procedures, and value engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical construction projects.
• Review plans, specifications, drawings, and bid documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and material pricing.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Develop labor, equipment, and material cost analyses.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions.
• Collaborate with project managers, operations teams, and field personnel.
• Maintain accurate bid records and estimating databases.
• Assist in project handoff following contract award.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical estimating experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of commercial and industrial electrical systems.
• Experience with estimating software such as Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, or similar platforms.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of NEC codes and industry standards.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Preferred Experience

• Design-build and negotiated project estimating.
• Healthcare, data center, manufacturing, or institutional project experience.
• Value engineering and conceptual budgeting.
• Project management or field electrical experience.
