The Black Tie Society is an emerging nonprofit organization focused on mentorship, cultural enrichment, professional networking, workforce development, youth initiatives, culinary arts exposure, executive engagement, and community impact throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan region and beyond.

Our mission is rooted in creating elevated experiences and meaningful opportunities that connect culture, leadership, education, philanthropy, and economic empowerment.

We are currently in a foundational growth stage and seeking a highly motivated individual who believes in building something impactful from the ground floor.

The Opportunity

This is not a traditional volunteer role.

We are looking for a mission-driven builder — someone who understands nonprofit infrastructure, organizational growth, partnerships, grants, systems, operations, and long-term scalability.

The ideal candidate understands that early-stage organizations require vision, patience, creativity, and leadership.

This position is initially volunteer-based while the organization continues building infrastructure, partnerships, programming, sponsorships, and operational funding. However, the right candidate may transition into a paid leadership role as the organization scales.

Responsibilities

* Assist with nonprofit operational development

* Help establish organizational systems and procedures

* Support grant research and funding strategies

* Assist with sponsorship and partnership outreach

* Help organize volunteer recruitment and engagement

* Support program development and implementation

* Assist with fundraising strategy and event coordination

* Help build community and corporate relationships

* Support strategic planning and organizational growth

* Assist with board development and administrative processes

* Help identify scalable opportunities and community impact initiatives

* Work closely with leadership on expansion initiatives and long-term vision

Ideal Candidate

We are seeking someone who is:

* Comfortable working in a startup-style environment

* Organized and self-directed

* Strong in communication and relationship building

* Familiar with nonprofit operations, fundraising, or development

* Interested in helping build sustainable infrastructure

* Able to think strategically while also executing operationally

* Excited about creating culturally relevant and impactful programming

* Grant writing

* Sponsorship development

* Event production

* Volunteer coordination
