Precision Assembler - Fine Pitch Soldering and Wiring Assembly

Job Description

Assembly Technician

We are seeking an experienced Assembly Technician to assemble and inspect electrical harnesses according to engineering drawings, travelers, customer specifications, and applicable workmanship standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with cable preparation, crimping, soldering, potting, and precision assembly.

What You’ll Do

Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions
Verify traveler information, including part numbers, revisions, and quantities
Inspect materials for defects or damage
Prepare cables by cutting, de-jacketing, and stripping
Perform hand crimping on 8–28 AWG wire using stamped and machined contacts
Perform basic soldering, including tinning and leaded/lead-free solder
Complete potting of boots, connectors, and breakouts
Build assemblies to critical dimensions and required tolerances
Inspect work to IPC/WHMA-A-620, NASA-STD, and other applicable standards
Document completed processes and sign travelers
Properly identify, package, and label materials and assemblies
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Follow all company, industry, and safety requirements
Perform additional duties as assigned

What You Bring

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
1+ year of wire harness assembly or similar manufacturing experience
1+ year of soldering experience
Ability to read engineering drawings and electrical schematics
Experience with hand tools, inspection equipment, and measuring tools
Experience with wire stripping and crimping tools/machines
Basic knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Good vision, manual dexterity, and ability to perform repetitive tasks

Preferred

Contract manufacturing experience
Aerospace experience
1+ year of IPC/WHMA-A-620 experience
J-STD-001 certification

Physical Requirements

Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 25 lbs. unassisted
Stand/walk for extended periods
Perform repetitive hand and body movements
Perform station-based work for extended periods
Maintain a clean and safe workspace

Pay & Schedule

Level II: $24–$28/hour
Level III: $28–$32/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts
Start times: 6:00 AM, 6:30 AM, 7:00 AM, or 7:30 AM
