Cornelius Veterinary Clinic is looking for an experienced Part-Time Veterinary Technician

.

The ideal candidate would be compassionate towards our patients and clients. Be confident in rooming patients assisting in surgery monitoring surgery patients surgical recovery drawing blood and running bloodwork placing IV catheters knowledge of x-ray and proper positioning experience with in-clinic laboratory equipment comfortable with proper animal handling and restraint understanding the importance of client education and is a positive and supportive team player. A positive and motivating attitude is a must. Requirements:

• Certified Veterinary Technicians (highly preferred)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a veterinary hospital or animal clinic
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Knowledge of common treatments and processes normally found in a veterinary hospital setting
• Obtaining accurate and thorough medical histories
• Assisting doctor and other technical staff with surgeries
• Blood draws (cephalic and jugular)
• Placing IV catheters
• Digital radiology including positioning.
• Dentistry (digital x-rays scaling polishing)
• Anesthesia (induction intubation monitoring aseptic technique)
• Laboratory skills such as ear and fecal cytology; HM5; Vetscan; Sedivue
• Excellent client communication/education
• Passion for working with animals and their owners
