Overview
Registered Nurse – Med Surg Tele (Cardiac) | Travel assignment
Location: Rochester, NY, United States
Start date: 08/17/2026
Duration: Weeks
Shift: 4x12 Nights
Unit: Medical-Surgical / Telemetry with Cardiac focus, 19 beds; adults and geriatrics
Experience: 1 year minimum RN experience; first-time travelers accepted
Charting: EPIC (required/preferred)
License: NY RN license in hand to submit
Orientation: 16 hours
Details: This is a travel, temporary assignment in a hospital setting. Floating within scope to similar units is required; typical supports include IV teams, Respiratory, PT, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Transportation, Unit Secretary, and Rapid Response Team. PCTs handle vitals, glucose checks, EKGs, and ADLs.

- Location restriction: Applicants must reside at least 75 miles from the assignment site
- Weekend requirement: Every other week (EOW)

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adults and geriatrics on a Medical-Surgical / Telemetry/Cardiac unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care
- Monitor telemetry, recognize dysrhythmias, and implement appropriate interventions
- Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and perform peripheral line care
- Deliver supplemental oxygen and non-invasive airway support as needed; apply isolation precautions and PPE
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (respiratory, PT, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services) to coordinate care and ensure patient safety
- Document accurately in EPIC, including flowsheets, progress notes, and discharge planning; participate in rapid response or code events as a member of the response team

Requirements
- Current New York RN license in hand to submit
- BLS certification; NIHSS certification per job notes
- Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience, preferably MS/Telemetry or Cardiac-related
- EPIC charting experience (required or strongly preferred)
- MS/Telemetry competency including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Ability to work 4x12 night shifts; floating within scope to similar units; able to meet the 75-mile residency location requirement
- RTO restriction: cannot exceed 1 week of absence; confirm during hiring
