And we invest in our world-class team, empowering our colleagues to unpack their potential, because we believe when our people grow, so does our business.This position is for our Night Shift Maintenance Mechanic.Consists of a 2-2-3 rotating 12-hour schedule from 7p-7a.Starting pay is $32.00- $45.00 based on experience and skillset.Shift premium for this is $3.50/ hour.Position SummaryTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The Mechanics report directly to the Maintenance Manager and are responsible for inspecting, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing all plant equipment assigned to him/her. In-depth knowledge of all plant machinery operations is required. In performing these responsibilities, associates are to work safely, efficiently, and cooperatively in a manner that demonstrates team member involvement.Key Functions & ResponsibilitiesWork in a professional manner with other maintenance personnel as needed to keep all equipment in top working order resulting in only quality products being released to the customer.Troubleshoot, remove and replace different types of electronic, electromechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and optic systems.Pre-inspect parts or equipment to be repaired to determine what parts, supplies, forms, tools, repair and shop equipment are required; and communicate with the Maintenance Manager.Read programmable controller information to diagnose complex problems.Diagnose and repair AC and DC motor controls.Replace belts, pulleys, cables, chains, bearings, gears and related equipment.Communicate with other plant personnel when requested to, to review deficiencies.Accurately log all work performed.Maintain work areas in a clean orderly manner.Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.Be thoroughly familiar with plant lockout/tagout procedures, electrical safety, hazard communication program, personal protective equipment and other safety programs and apply these procedures when working on equipment.Other duties and/or jobs as assigned.Required Experience, Skills, & AbilitiesWork off of a ladder or in high or cramped spaces.Must be skillful in diagnosing and repairing plastic injection molding equipment and accessories. Talented in troubleshooting industrial motors, starters, controls, and panels.High school education or GED equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Good hand and eye coordination is very essential.Demonstrated dexterity in using hand tools.Ability to lift 100 pounds and carry 50 pounds safely.Ability to intermittently sit, bend, climb, twist, crouch, reach, and lower.Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to transfer and to interpret the explanation of problems and to receive and understand work assignments.Achieve and maintain required certified electrical worker status including certified CPR.Preferred Experience, Skills, & AbilitiesPreferred 2 to 3 years' experience with maintenance.Injection molding machine abilities preferred.Understanding of hydraulics.Electrical background preferred.Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics.Knowledge of PLC.Ability to operate a forklift safely and professionally.Welding and fabrication as needed.Amcor is a global leader in packaging solutions for consumer and healthcare products.
