Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, develop, administer, direct, and supervise occupational therapy treatment in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines
• Assess patients' level of functioning upon physician orders and implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results and patient/family goals
• Participate in the interdisciplinary team process, including team conferences, and collaborate with other team members to provide optimal patient care
• Manage discharge planning for each patient, including placement coordination, patient/family education, and adaptive equipment recommendations and training
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and OT/COTA students in the application of occupational therapy theory and techniques; assist with new staff orientation
• Complete all required documentation, including initial evaluations, daily progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge documentation, within defined timeframes and per department policy

Required Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapist (OT) licensure in the state of Texas or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Knowledge of and adherence to federal, state, and local occupational therapy standards and regulations
• Ability to perform comprehensive patient evaluations and develop individualized, goal-oriented treatment plans
• Demonstrated ability to supervise COTAs, students, and support staff competently
• Strong documentation skills with the ability to complete required records accurately and within established timeframes

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in an acute rehabilitation or similar clinical setting
• Familiarity with safe patient handling techniques and workplace safety protocols
• Experience with interdisciplinary team collaboration and family/caregiver education
