Senior Compliance Officer/Quality Assurance

Overview The Enterprise Compliance Program Management (ECP) is a central compliance governance function that establishes, implements, and administers frameworks and processes that support the Compliance function. The Senior Compliance Officer/Quality Assurance position supports the implementation, maintenance, and administration of the Compliance Program. The role is primarily accountable for leading and expanding the ECP Quality Assurance program and its enhancements. Responsibilities Participate in the design, implementation, management, and execution of a specific Compliance Program. Support the development, execution, and maintenance of QA plans, procedures, and documentation. Design, develop, and execute QA strategies and plans to ensure sustainability, efficiency, and alignment with strategic goals. Identify opportunities to strengthen the QA capability by leveraging tools, technology, and automation. Review compliance-related directives, manuals, and documentation and support the development of business requirements. Work closely with data and technology teams to implement automation or tools that enhance the QA function. Recommend and implement solutions based on analysis of QA issues and their implications for the business. Support the independent analysis and assessment of the program to resolve strategic issues. Monitor, document, and track defects, nonconformances, or quality risks, including remediation timelines. Break down QA exceptions and analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations. Perform analysis of QA results to identify subsystem and/or system-level performance issues. Ensure the accuracy and consistency of QA results through documentation processes (e.g., methodologies, guidance, regulatory requirements). Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Analyze and report on compliance and related data to gain regulatory risk insights. Support the development and maintenance of guidelines, procedures, job aids, and training materials. Interact and communicate with management and stakeholders, represent the Compliance Program team, and engage with examiners or auditors during internal, external, and regulatory audits and examinations; provide supporting documentation as required. Provide advice and guidance on implementing solutions aligned with regulatory compliance based on an understanding of business operations and stakeholder needs. Build effective professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders and establish trust with auditors and regulators. Operate effectively in a high‑stress environment with constantly changing expectations and regulatory and audit scrutiny. Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules. Apply expertise and think creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and find solutions to complex, non‑routine problems. Work independently, handling non‑routine situations on a regular basis. Broader duties in support of the Compliance Program may be assigned as needed. Qualifications Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience and a post‑secondary degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong communication, critical thinking, relationship management, and project management skills. Collaborate well with others and translate technical concepts into easy‑to‑understand terms. Drive and execute projects or deliverables with minimal supervision and handle non‑routine situations regularly. Analyze data and use metrics to highlight improvement opportunities. Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, standards, and tools. Work independently and collaboratively in cross‑functional teams. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Proficient collaboration and team skills. Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills. Influence skills. Data‑driven decision‑making abilities. Salary and Compensation Salary: $81,400.00 – $151,800.00 Pay Type: Salaried Benefits BMO offers health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans.
