Pulmonology Nurse Practitioner

Pioneer Pulmonology, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine is seeking an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to join our outpatient pulmonary clinic team serving the Brandon area. This daytime, Monday Friday role offers 8-hour shifts, paid time off, and the opportunity to provide high-quality specialty care in a collaborative clinic setting.

The Pulmonary APRN will evaluate and manage new and established patients with a range of respiratory conditions, while supporting timely follow-up, patient education, care coordination, and continuity across the outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage acute and chronic respiratory conditions, including COPD, asthma, chronic cough, pulmonary nodules, interstitial lung disease, and sleep-related breathing disorders.
• Obtain histories, perform physical exams, develop treatment plans, monitor response to therapy, and adjust care in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Order, interpret, and review appropriate diagnostics, including PFTs, imaging, laboratory testing, sleep studies, and related studies within scope of practice.
• Manage inhaled, nebulized, oxygen, and other respiratory therapies in accordance with clinical guidelines.
• Support pulmonary nodule evaluation, surveillance, care coordination, and timely follow-up of incidental and screening-detected findings.
• Collaborate with pulmonologists, primary care providers, hospital teams, nurse navigators, and ancillary staff to support continuity of care.
• Educate patients and families on disease management, treatment plans, smoking cessation, medication adherence, oxygen therapy, and preventive health measures.
• Maintain timely documentation and support referrals, quality improvement, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and patient access.

Qualifications

• Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license, or eligibility for APRN licensure, in Florida.
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse program.
• Pulmonary, sleep medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, or specialty clinic experience preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, teamwork, documentation, and patient-centered care skills.
