Zone Maintenance Technician

Position Overview This journeyman‑level position involves the maintenance and repair of buildings and facilities during peak and non‑peak hours across the Medical University of South Carolina. Workers use power and hand tools to perform corrective maintenance and repairs ranging from minor to extensive tasks, following established trade practices and instructions. The position may require occasional monitoring or supervision and is considered essential personnel in disaster situations. Workers operate on an on‑call rotating schedule. Key Responsibilities Maintain designated zone assignments, troubleshoot issues, perform repairs, and inspect work to ensure compliance with maintenance standards. Coordinate with the Hospital Help Desk, FSC, Maintenance Manager, or Supervisor for work assignments and adhere to supervisory inspections. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Work experience: Minimum of 3 years in a similar maintenance role.
