Smart Home Experts represent the next evolution of Vivint's field organizationcombining consultative sales, smart home expertise and exceptional customer service to help customers create a smarter, safer and more connected home. In this role, you won't just respond to customer needsyou'll create opportunities.

Smart Home Experts meet customers in their homes, engage prospective customers in retail locations and other events, generate new business, and provide personalized smart home recommendations based on each customer's needs. You'll also have the technical knowledge and hands-on capability to support the complete customer experience, from consultation through installation and ongoing service.

As a Smart Home Sales Technician, you'll help customers choose and use smart home technology by:

• Meeting customers in homes, retail locations and events.
• Recommending personalized smart home, security and automation solutions.
• Generating leads, following up with prospects and closing sales.
• Installing, servicing and troubleshooting Vivint smart home equipment.
• Educating customers on how to use their system.
• Representing Vivint professionally in the field, in retail environments and in the communities we serve.

What We're Looking For:

Must have:

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Sales mindset with the ability to build trust, uncover needs and ask for the sale.
• Comfort learning and using smart home technology.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Ability to pass post-offer background and licensing requirements as applicable by law.

Preferred experience:

• Sales, retail, B2C, home services, security, cable/satellite, solar, construction, pest control, automotive or other field service experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 45 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders up to 14 ft, including while carrying tools and while meeting weight-capacity requirements for company-approved ladders (i.e., 375 lbs) and work in confined spaces like attics.
• Comfort bending, kneeling, standing and walking for extended periods.
• Ability to work in retail environments, including standing, walking and engaging customers.

Compensation and Benefits:

Base pay: Hourly base pay plus performance-based commissions and incentives. Uncapped earning opportunity through consultations, upgrades, referrals and new customer sales. Paid training in sales, products, installation and service. Training hourly pay is HIGHER than post-training pay to provide a buffer while you build your pipeline. Company vehicle, gas card, all tools, phone and tablet provided for work use. Schedule: Structured four-day workweek, including weekends, with flexibility to support customer and retail sales opportunities.
