Nurse Manager Surgical Services

Full-time

Clinical Management Consultants

Bring your perioperative expertise to a Nurse Manager Surgical Services opportunity where meaningful patient care, visible leadership, modern clinical workflows, professional growth, and the quality of life found in southwestern Montana come together in one exceptional hospital career.

The Nurse Manager Operating Room will join a healthcare organization recognized multiple times among the nation’s Top 100 and Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals by the National Rural Health Association. National recognition for exceptional patient safety, clinical quality, and cardiovascular care reflects a strong culture of accountability and continuous improvement, giving an experienced nursing leader the opportunity to advance Surgical Services within a respected, community-focused medical center.

Within Surgical Services, the Nurse Manager Surgical Services will lead a focused perioperative department featuring two Operating Rooms and approximately 14 FTEs. This scale allows the Nurse Manager Operating Room to remain close to daily clinical operations, understand staff and patient needs, and make visible improvements without the layers often found in larger systems. The department offers an appealing balance of hands-on leadership, procedural coordination, interdisciplinary partnership, workflow optimization, and responsibility for maintaining safe, efficient surgical care.

The Nurse Manager Surgical Services will oversee clinical practice, staffing, scheduling, education, regulatory readiness, quality improvement, patient safety, resource stewardship, and day-to-day Operating Room operations. Collaborating with organizational leadership, surgeons, anesthesia professionals, perioperative nurses, technicians, and other hospital-based clinicians, the Nurse Manager Operating Room will help align case flow, equipment readiness, team communication, and evidence-based standards. Technology-supported workflows and clinical data can help improve efficiency and decision-making while preserving the professional judgment essential to safe perioperative care.

For an experienced perioperative nurse ready to expand into healthcare leadership, the Nurse Manager Surgical Services role offers meaningful scope and professional visibility. The position creates opportunities to mentor staff, strengthen onboarding and competency development, participate in quality and safety initiatives, support specialty education, improve Operating Room processes, and develop a cohesive team culture. Rather than being another nursing job, this Nurse Manager Operating Room position can become a defining next step for a leader who wants measurable impact, professional autonomy, and close connection to both frontline practice and organizational priorities.

Living and working as a Nurse Manager Surgical Services in southwestern Montana means trading congested commutes for open landscapes, mountain access, and a community-centered pace of life. Nearby opportunities for hiking, fly-fishing, biking, skiing, wildlife viewing, and exploring the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest make time away from the Operating Room genuinely restorative, while regional destinations such as Maverick Mountain and the annual Montana Folk Festival in Butte add memorable weekend options. Winters and travel distances require practical planning, but healthcare professionals drawn to four-season recreation, smaller communities, and immediate access to nature may find this region especially rewarding.

The Nurse Manager Surgical Services will receive competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package aligned with the responsibilities of an experienced hospital nursing leader, with full details available during the recruitment process. Take the next step toward a Surgical Services leadership career where quality, team development, patient safety, and Montana living share the same horizon—connect with a Clinical Management Consultants recruiter to explore this Nurse Manager Operating Room opportunity.
