Job Description: Production Manager - Discrete Manufacturing
Location: Cary, IL (onsite) We're partnering with a stable, growing manufacturing company in Cary, IL to hire a Production Manager to lead multiple shop-floor areas and drive performance across safety, quality, delivery, and throughput. This is a high-visibility leadership role with a clear path to broader operational responsibility as the business continues to scale. What You'll Own
Location: Cary, IL (onsite) We're partnering with a stable, growing manufacturing company in Cary, IL to hire a Production Manager to lead multiple shop-floor areas and drive performance across safety, quality, delivery, and throughput. This is a high-visibility leadership role with a clear path to broader operational responsibility as the business continues to scale. What You'll Own
- Lead day-to-day production across multiple departments (safety, quality, delivery, output)
- Develop and coach frontline supervisors; drive accountability and performance
- Identify bottlenecks and improve flow to increase throughput
- Partner with Materials/Planning to align production with demand
- Ensure strong shop-floor discipline (processes, ERP transactions, execution)
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, standard work, operating rhythms)
- Proven leadership in a production/manufacturing environment (manager or strong supervisor stepping up)
- Background in discrete manufacturing (assembly, machining, fabrication, etc.)
- Experience leading through supervisors and managing multiple work areas
- Hands-on, floor-oriented leader who can drive execution-not just strategy
- Lean/CI mindset (formal or practical experience)
- ERP exposure (Dynamics or similar a plus)
- Clear runway for growth into a larger operations role
- Strong leadership team and investment in process improvement
- Stable, established business with a focus on operational excellence
