Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights) | Includes Holiday, On-Call, Callback, and Charge Rotation per Unit Needs

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill neurological patients in a 12-bed, state-of-the-art Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit
• Manage and monitor patients with diagnoses including traumatic brain injury, aneurysm, status epilepticus, stroke, and other critical neurologic pathologies
• Apply strong critical thinking and organizational skills to deliver high-acuity, individualized patient care
• Utilize telemetry monitoring as part of ongoing patient assessment and care
• Participate in charge nurse responsibilities, on-call, and callback rotations as needed by the unit

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN License (NY License ONLY)
• Minimum two (2) years of RN experience in an ICU acute care setting
• BLS certification – American Heart Association ONLY
• ACLS certification – American Heart Association ONLY
• NIHSS certification required
• Telemetry experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for patients with traumatic brain injury or stroke in a dedicated neuro ICU environment
• Demonstrated ability to remain current in critical care knowledge and best practices
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills within a multidisciplinary team setting
