Job Title: Forklift Operator and Material Handler Job Description

This role focuses on safely and efficiently handling frozen meat products throughout the warehouse, including loading, unloading, weighing, bagging, packing, unpacking, labeling, and palletizing. You will operate a sit-down forklift to move product and prepare pallets of frozen meat for shipment while maintaining accuracy and safety in a cold-storage environment.

• Load and unload frozen meat products from trucks and storage areas using both manual handling and a sit-down forklift.
• Weigh, bag, pack, and unpack product according to established procedures and customer or internal specifications.
• Label pallets and product accurately to ensure proper identification, tracking, and shipment.
• Palletize frozen meat from chest freezers, stacking and securing product on pallets for safe and efficient transport.
• Operate a sit-down forklift to move pallets and product throughout the warehouse and shipping areas.
• Handle totes of chicken parts and other frozen materials with care to maintain product integrity and safety.
• Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures while working in a cold environment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient material flow and safe operations.
• Work effectively on the assigned shift to meet production and shipping schedules.

• Experience working in a warehouse, general labor, or material handling environment.
• Ability to operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently.
• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Comfort working a 3rd shift schedule or similar off-shift hours, as required.
• Willingness to perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, stacking, and palletizing.
• Ability to work in a colder environment and around strong food-related odors.

• Prior experience with frozen or cold-storage products is beneficial.
• Previous forklift certification or training is an advantage.
• Familiarity with labeling, weighing, and packaging processes in a warehouse setting is helpful.
• Experience handling meat or food products in a production or distribution environment is a plus.

You will join a stable operation where your hands-on skills and reliability directly support smooth warehouse and shipping activities. You will work in a warehouse environment that handles frozen meat products, including totes of chicken parts. The facility operates as a cold environment due to the nature of the product, with temperatures around 50 degrees in winter and approximately 80 degrees in summer. There is a noticeable and strong smell associated with frozen meat products. The role involves operating a sit-down forklift, moving pallets, and performing general material handling tasks on a designated shift, including 3rd shift or similar hours. You should expect to dress appropriately for a cooler warehouse setting and for physical work that includes lifting and handling product throughout the shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mifflintown, PA.

The pay range for this position is $20.67 - $20.67/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Mifflintown,PA.
