The candidate is a self-motivated individual who can collaborate with a team and across the organization. The candidate takes responsibility of the software artifacts produced adhering to U.S. Bank standards in order to ensure minimal impact to the customer experience. The candidate will be adept with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.Essential Responsibilities:Responsible for designing, developing, testing, operating and maintaining productsTakes full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable codeConsistently creates optimal design adhering to architectural best practices; considers scalability, reliability and performance of systems/contexts affected when defining technical designsPerforms analysis on failures, propose design changes, and encourage operational improvementsMakes sound design/coding decisions keeping customer experience in the forefrontTakes feedback from code review and apply changes to meet standardsConducts code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development proceduresAccountable for ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practicesExhibits relentless focus in software reliability engineering standards embedded into development standardsEmbraces emerging technology opportunities and contributes to the best practices in support of the bank’s technology transformationContributes to a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvementReviews tasks critically and ensures they are appropriately prioritized and sized for incremental delivery; anticipates and communicates blockers and delays before they require escalationBasic QualificationsBachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experienceSix to eight years of relevant experiencePreferred Skills/ExperienceHands on working experience developing highly maintainable, extensible, and testable distributed systemsHands on development experience with Node, NPM and React framework, producing hygiene and secure front-end code.Proven ability to implement user interfaces against REST APIsHands-on experience in Microservices/API development using Java/Spring bootExperience in developing Cloud native applications in Azure or AWS is preferred.Experience on designing low latency applications designed for scalability and reliability with high throughput.Experience with open-source technologies like Java, Spring boot, Kafka, etc. and containerization.Experience in Jenkins/Cloud bees, Gitlab, Apigee, Istio, Kubernetes, Rancher.Experience using modern and functional programming stylesFamiliarity with source control management best practicesGood to have AI experience.Ability to analyze the bigger picture, identifying and prioritizing with the aim to consider more than one domain within an analysisPreferred skill securing app and containers using certificatesLocation expectationsThis role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.If there’s anything we can do to accommodate a disability during any portion of the application or hiring process, please refer to our disability accommodations for applicants.
