Royal Caribbean Group’s Safety, Security and EnvironmentalTeam has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Senior Auditor, Attractions Audit & Compliance reporting to the Senior Manager, Internal SSQE Audits Position Summary: The Lead, Compliance is responsible for the independent leadership, planning, executition and reporting of audits and regulatory compliance of all attractions across the Company’s shipboard fleet and private destinations. Attractions pertain to anything where a guest is in or on a feature which moves the guest for the purpose of entertainment, such as waterslides,FlowRider, aquatic play, dry play, dry slides, obstacle courses, climbing walls, ziplines, and similar features. This includesallrelated aquatic systems onboard ships, as well as shore ‑ side attractions at destinations such as Perfect Day at Coco Cay, Paradise Beach Club, and future destinations. This role serves as an Lead, Compliance and independent assessor independent assessor, conducting routine audits, and supporting compliance reviews. The position requires deep technicalexpertisein water attractions, a strong understanding of global regulatory frameworksrelated to attraction features, and the ability to clearly communicate findings through structured reporting and executive ‑ level write ‑ ups.The roleoperateswith a high degree of autonomy and professional judgment and engages directly with shipboard executive committees, senior shoreside leadership, andcross ‑ functionalpartners to drive compliance and continuous improvement.Travel is a corecomponentof the role, with an estimated70%+ travel requirement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as Lead Compliance for attraction and aquatic system audits onboard ships (typically 1–2 visits per vessel annually) and at privatedestinations. Evaluate compliance with applicable international, regional, and local standards governing waterslides,aquaticand otherattractions. Assess operational readiness, preventive maintenance practices, documentation, and safety controls. Review technical parameters including (but not limited to): Water quality and chlorination systems Water pressure, flow rates, and hydraulic performance Ride controls, restraints, safety features, and signage Preventive maintenance records and operational logs Training records,SOPs, and any otherrelateddocumentation Maintain working knowledge of global waterslide,aquaticand otherattraction standards, regulatory bodies, and industry best practices. Partner with operators, engineering, andthird ‑ partyvendors to ensure alignment between design intent, regulatory requirements, and operational execution. Support leadership with defensible,well ‑ documentedanalysis suitable for executive review and regulatory scrutiny. Produce clear, concise, and technically sound writtenauditreportswith findings and conclusions. Coordinate audit activities and engage directly with shipboard leadership, shoreside departments, operators, engineers, andthird ‑ partyvendors Communicate complex technical findings in a way that is understandable to both technical andnon ‑ technicalaudiences. Present results, trends, and recommendations to senior leadership andcross ‑ functionalpartners. Support the identification of systemic trends, recurring issues, and opportunities to strengthen governance, standards, and controls across the fleet and destinations. Contribute to the evolution of internal standards, audit frameworks, and compliance programs related toattractions. Ability to build a matrix, such as a score card or KPI, to gauge the performance of various attractions across the organization. Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills: Degreefrom an accredited universityinengineeringor safetyrelated to waterpark and attractions safety. At least5yearsofexperienceacrosssafety,engineering,water ‑ relatedattractions, orauditing, including significanthands ‑ onexperience with water attractions, aquatic facilities, or waterslide operations encompassing design, engineering, maintenance, operations, or compliance. Demonstrated knowledge of global waterslide and aquaticattractionregulatory frameworks and standards. Familiar with ASTM, EN, ISO, and any other relevant standards. Experience conductingaudits, inspections,or independent assessments in regulated or safety ‑ critical environments. Strong investigativeor auditskills, including experience with incident analysis and root ‑ cause methodologies. Demonstrated ability tooperateindependently, exercise professional judgment, and communicate effectively with senior leadership. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce structured, high ‑ quality technical reports. Willingness and ability to travel extensively (approximately70% or more), including international travel and short ‑ notice deployments. Preferred Qualifications: Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate in a multicultural environment with all levels of employees and management. Self-driven to continually improve and actively work to bridge gaps in their knowledgein order toadd more value to a particular project or setting. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and priorities Experience in amusement rides/attractions, cruise/maritime, industrial automation, ortheme ‑ parkoperations. Familiarity with risk assessment methods (PHA/HAZOP/FTA, ASTM), MOC workflows, and commissioning/acceptance testing (FAT/SAT). Experience with watermanagementsystems, hydraulics,or rideengineering parameters (e.g., flow rates, pressures, chemical controls). Prior experience in the cruise, hospitality, theme park, orlarge ‑ scaleleisure attraction industry. Certifications or formal training related to aquatic safety, rideaudits orinspection, or engineering compliance.
