Job Summary

Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, goals, and priorities

Administers assessments to include intellectual and achievement tests to students referred for possible eligibility for special education.

Co-coordinates the eligibility and re-evaluation process and assists in making appropriate placement recommendations

Assists in the development of procedures for referral, evaluation, and placement

Reviews referrals and requests additional information, as needed

Consults with school personnel regarding appropriate referrals, and matters related to job responsibilities

Re-evaluates currently enrolled Exceptional Education students according to federal and state guidelines

Schedules testing and related activities with school personnel (or parents, as appropriate)

Assists with compliance verification on transfers, re-evaluations, and initial referrals

Follows federal, state, local, and professional guidelines and timelines for evaluation and eligibility

Confers with attorneys on due process as directed
