Job Description:

• Management level position responsible for merchandising and buying of product line.
• Develops an assortment plan, including price point and space allocation for a product.
• Ensures the product development follows the line plan and production calendar.
• Collaborates with manufacturing on vendors, calendar and costing strategies.
• May participant in plans for ad campaigns and merchandise presentations.
• Participates in the patterning process.
• Tracks competitive intelligence process and performs assessments of fashion trends.
• May partner with other functions to manage inventory.
• Tracks and reviews sales to provide analysis for increased sales opportunities, improve margins, manage inventories and decrease markdowns.
• Works fairly independently and handles issues of complexity.
• Typically reports to Merchandising Manager.
• Typically no direct reports.
• May be assigned an Assistant Buyer.
• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• May have advanced degree. 5-7 years of merchandising experience.
