What You'll Do As a Dental Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting our dental providers and ensuring an outstanding experience for every patient who walks through our doors. Key Responsibilities: Provide chairside assistance during a variety of dental procedures. Support faculty, residents, and dental students in delivering high-quality patient care. Capture and process digital radiographs to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for scheduled procedures. Monitor patients during oral sedation and anesthesia procedures while ensuring comfort and safety. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment to support efficient clinic operations. Follow strict infection prevention and OSHA safety protocols. Assist with instrument sterilization and clinic workflow to ensure smooth patient care delivery. What We're Looking For Education High School Diploma or equivalent required. Experience Dental Assistant I: 1–2 years of dental assisting experience or completion of an accredited Dental Assisting Program. Dental Assistant II: 2–4 years of experience or Dental Assisting Program completion plus 2 years of experience. Dental Assistant III: 4+ years of experience, Dental Assisting Program completion plus 3 years of experience, or foreign-trained dentist. Preferred Qualifications Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) certification. Radiology certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire. Experience with electronic health records and dental practice management systems. Familiarity with dental terminology and Axium software preferred. Why NSU Health?
