Position Overview

Seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Emergency Department for an 8-week contract. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide compassionate, cost-effective patient care while adhering to established nursing practices and hospital protocols.

Job Details

• Shift: Night and Day shifts, including variable 3x12-hour rotations
• Firm Start Date: 8 weeks from the signing date
• Location: San Francisco, CA

Responsibilities

The RN will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in accordance with hospital standards, which includes but is not limited to:

• Providing nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department
• Implementing evidence-based nursing practices
• Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Performing assessments and managing acute patient conditions
• Participating in on-call rotations and weekend coverage as required

Qualifications

• Current California RN Licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (AHA)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an Emergency Department setting

Skills Required

• Proficient in managing various emergency medical situations
• Experience with IV management and arterial line care
• Ability to perform assessments for mental and behavioral health conditions
• Skilled in administering emergency medications and procedural sedation
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction

Patient Care Context

• Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Infants, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Daily Patient Visit Census: Varies based on department flow

Compliance and Verification

All compliance documents and work history verification are required prior to the start date. Candidates must provide accurate work history documentation for seven years.

Additional Information

The selected RN will be expected to float to other campuses if needed, maintain readiness to assist with higher patient volume, and participate in interdisciplinary teams focused on comprehensive care delivery.
