Assistant Controller

Fueling Success in this Role VP Racing is seeking a full‑time Assistant Controller to join its Finance Department at the Corporate Headquarters in San Antonio, Texas. The role involves overseeing complex accounting functions—accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance—while developing and implementing financial policies, analyzing financial data for forecasting and variance analysis, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Essential Functions Own the full accounting cycle—AR, AP, cost accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance for a high‑growth manufacturing and distribution company. Lead daily cash management, auditing, and reconciliations with precision and speed. Drive forecasting and variance analysis, turning complex financial data into actionable insights for leadership. Develop and implement financial policies, controls, and procedures that scale with the business. Serve as ERP Administrator (NetSuite preferred), managing system processes, data integrity, and controls. Prepare regulatory reports and corporate tax returns, ensuring full compliance and maximizing favorable tax positions. Lead and mentor direct reports, setting a high standard for accuracy and accountability. Partner cross‑functionally with sponsors, vendors, customers, and all levels of management. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field and at least four (4) years of accounting experience; alternative combinations of education and experience that provide the required skills, knowledge, and abilities are also acceptable.
